"We have been learning to love our big white dog, Abigail, for a little over a week now. We are witnessing the unveiling of a wonderful personality and a willful, happy dog. Abigail came to us, after having been very loved by her foster family, an 8 year old senior, tired, barely able to stand for more than a few minutes at a time, arthritic, and quiet dog. We were warned by her foster family that she does love her food: that has proven to be very true!
Abby has been, from the very start, a big, lovable, gentle, forgiving dog. The by-gone days of no food, being tied out, cold and wet living conditions are not even in her dreams! She is living the life of luxury, and watching her blossom is a treat. She wags her tail a lot, she heads for the door when she sees the leash, she even barks when she spots the squirrels in the backyard. The best thing of all is watching her RUN! She is feeling well enough to play and run after the kids, the birds, the squirrels (albeit manages just a few romps around the yard before she gets tired.) The biggest surprise about Abby is that she is absolutely deaf: and we thought she was just being stubborn. HWR and everyone connecting Abby down the path to our home have definitely given this big ole' white dog a new lease on life, for the rest of her life."
