Aja

We lost another member of our Hot Water Rescue family recently. Aja has crossed the bridge and we join her family in their sadness at her passing. Her Mom sent the following tribute to their beloved girl.

" When we first got Aja, we had recently lost our beloved Rottie, Jack. We got her with the intention of giving a needy Rottie a good home and because it just didn't feel right not having a dog around.

Aja was totally different from Jack. Different personality, quirks, habits, etc. But pretty soon we realized that we would not just be taking care of her. We fell in love all over again.

Aja loved going to the doggie park. She made a lot of friends there and loved playing with a lot of different dogs and saying hello to their people. We also liked watching movies together, lounging in the back yard on a sunny, cool day and going for rides together.

I can remember that when we first decided we wanted to adopt Aja,I had printed out her description and picture from Hot Water Rescue. I don't know what I did with it but I do remember that in her profile she was described as a wonderful ambassador for Rotties. This turned out to be such a fitting description. Aja changed more than one mind with regard to the impression many people have about Rotties. Her sweet face, with her big, beautiful eyes and the way she liked to lay her head in your lap when she got comfortable with you left now doubt what a sweet dog she was.

I know that I will adopt another Rottie when the time is right, but there will never be another Aja."

Rest in peace beautiful Aja, your sweet face and loving nature will never be forgotten.

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called the Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
