Gunner is a beautiful black lab mix, about 5-6 months old and 40lbs. He came to us from a WV shelter, where his fate was to be the gas chamber. But instead he is in a foster home, playing with his foster sister (a 90lb. Rottie girl), and having the time of his life! Gunner has been around all sorts of dogs and loves to play. He is already housetrained, and is learning his basic commands. Gunner knows sit, down, and wait, he is very responsive to training because he loves his treats!!! Gunner would make a great running partner and loves to play fetch.

Because Gunner still jumps up and takes treats very enthusiastically (he may get your finger a bit, although he is learning the gentle command), he would probably be best in a home with older kids. Although he loves playing with other dogs, he can be protective of his food around them. (He also has been improving here with training, and which just needs to continue. We think he may have gone hungry for a bit as he was a stray.)
