An up-date on sweet Laura:
Miss Laura is safe and very happy in her loving foster home. She is receiving a lot of one-on-one attention and TLC. Definitely blossoming into a beautiful precious sweet little girl.

From her foster mom:
"Laura is such a dear!!! A devoted cuddle bug on her favorite spot on the couch or snuggled up close under the covers in bed. She tries her best to get as close to you as possible. A grade A student on her housebreaking lessons. I loved my last foster girl; but Laura is such a peach!! Enough energy for exercise and play time but quickly mellows out. Laura has met everyone and everything with her tail wagging and a serious butt wiggle. One look into her lovely eyes; and you just fall madly in love with her. Laura is eager to please; and is easily motivated for treats. One of her favorite things"!

We met Laura briefly, but we felt the need to post her and just see, if against all odds, we could find someone before it is too late. Laura is at a dog pound where the animal control officers CLEARLY love her. The sad thing is that it is very unlikely that she will be saved. We believe she was likely mistreated and for that reason, she isn’t entirely comfortable around new people. The officers explained that when they go in her cage, she licks them to death! They say she is one of the sweetest dogs they have ever had. She has a huge heart and is desperate for someone who will be her protector, who will love her unconditionally, and never let her get hurt again. Most people think she has strikes against her. Most people don’t give pits a chance, and most people don’t give abused, shy dogs a chance, so the odds are not in her favor.

I must say, she has the face of an angel. She isn’t comfortable with new people but if the right person decided to show her love, I think they would find the friend of a lifetime. She just needs to learn to trust, and learn what it is like to be loved, and she will be fine. The officers explained that she has never shown any negative behavior to animals.

If you are reading this and have the patience and love in your heart to give this girl a chance, we think you will be rewarded more than you could ever imagine. This girl is in serious danger of euthanasia if she isn’t rescued asap and sadly, we don’t have any room. We are hoping someone will read this and want to either foster or adopt this girl… we hope someone out there is willing to give a dog like her a chance.
