This is an URGENT plea for a true life for one the sweetest
dogs ever!!! Please take the time to read Roscoe's entire
story!!! Roscoe was nearly surrendered to a high kill-shelter
until the shelter made it clear that they didn't have space and
that Roscoe would be put to sleep straight away. His family
argued that they didn't have enough time or money to care for
him but the shelter didn't give up. How could they?!?! Roscoe
sat there with such gentle, sweet, brown eyes almost asking for
a chance. The shelter asked his family if they would hold him
for a few more days until they could get in contact with us. Roscoe was amongst so many other dogs in need. We didn't have the space but we made the time to speak with his owners and sent a volunteer to meet Roscoe. What our volunteer saw was unbelievably sad. It was no longer a case of a dog that needed a new home because his family had fallen upon hard times, it was a true case of RESCUE. Roscoe's owner had clearly done wrong by him and wanted nothing but to get rid of him, throwing him away like garbage. Roscoe was very possibly a failed fighter that was later used for baiting but failed at that as well. He has the scars of both and until recently carried a defeated heart. But anyone that know this breed knows that their love for people is so strong and there ability to forgive amazing. We couldn't have left Roscoe in the situation he was in but really had no where to put him. We work closely with a few kennels that allow us space in an emergency and luckily one opened their door to Roscoe. Although not ideal and not somewhere we want him to be long term, the kennel saved his life. The staff love him so much and want nothing more then to see him find a home of his own soon. They volunteer their personal time and have even offered to donate money to help us find him that home. Roscoe enjoys play time and his walks but it's just not the same. When they are busy he watches the dogs come and go but his chance to go hasn't come yet. He spends much of his day in a run and his nights are very lonely. No lap to lay his head on, no one to cuddle with, no one to show how much he has to give. Roscoe is such a loving animal and it breaks our hearts that he can not give his affection and be giving the same affection and attention in return. There is only so much the staff can do. So you see, this is a very special plea for someone equally as special to open your home to Roscoe. He needs you so much and you will quickly learn how much you need him. Roscoe will make such a wonderful companion. Please won't you apply to adopt him TODAY. If you have space in your heart but are not ready to commit to a dog for forever maybe you'd be willing to commit to Roscoe until we can find his forever home, apply to foster TODAY. Help us make his dream come true!!! Roscoe is approx two years young, a beautiful chestnut brindle and has healed well (no more visible scars). He is very sweet, loves to give hugs and kisses, is gentle, walks well on a leash and will transition well into a home. He loves people, big and little and is good with many dogs. He received the highest rating on his safer test, a NO CONCERN. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and healthy. APPLY TODAY!!! TIME IS RUNNING OUT!!! ROSCOE CAN'T LIVE HIS LIFE IN A KENNEL; IT JUST ISN'T FAIR. |
