Financial donations

Financial donations are greatly needed for many things, medical work, supplies, and much more. However, we also need donations that will go towards the buying of a kennel. Our goal is to buy a kennel locally that has the capacity to hold at least 60 adult dogs, have a cat facility, and a maternity ward. Once we get that up and running, the next goal is to open another up in another state and so on. Our goal is to have one in every state in the U.S. Our shelter facilities will not only exist to provide shelter for dogs and cats waiting for their forever homes, but it will also be a place where we will have many people together focusing on issues in the area and addressing the bigger problem out there. Different states and cities have different laws regarding animal cruelty and what is considered to be humane living for an animal. Many states also have laws regarding what is an appropriate number of dogs to own and what is a reputable breeder. Also, of course many states also have different budgets for animals, which is something that also needs to be addressed. There are some municipal pounds in this country that would put anyone in tears. There are facilities with atrocious ideas of what are "humane" methods of euthanasia. There are facilities that can barely afford to feed the dogs, facilities that don't have heat, some facilities that don't even provide the animals with shelter, or their own individual space. To put it bluntly, there are animal control facilities in this country that just put a bunch of dogs into an unsheltered pen and shooting them from a distance when their time is up. We need funds to put together humane and loving facilities with educated workers who can focus on not only the immediate problems, but the bigger picture.

Miscellaneous Items

On a smaller scale, we always need donations of things like collars, leashes, beds, toys (we always need toys!), and food. We will always gladly accept any donations of any amount or any product. We, like every other rescue, are always in need of anything that anyone can spare, even little things like a tube of Revolution or shampoo, a box of treats, etc. Everything and anything helps us out, so any donations will be greatly appreciated.

Food

We always need donations of food, however we have our dogs on strict diets. We believe that nutrition is extremely important when dealing with any living creature. We look at our dogs as children, and we do not want to feed them anything that is not high enough quality to give a person. We only feed foods that are free of by-products and dyes (this helps to avoid or eliminate the potential of skin infections and cancers, and of course builds strong bones and organs), that are oven baked) this makes the food more digestible, and prevents bloat, which can be fatal to a dog), and human grade ingredients (this, once again, ensures that they are eating foods that are totally digestible for dogs and keeps them healthy and happy). The food that we feed our dogs is called Wellness, but we also recommend foods such as: Innova, California Natural, etc.

Dog Sponsoring

Also, a new program that we are starting is dog sponsoring. This is something that is much needed and will enable us to save even more dogs. When you sponsor a dog for Hot Water Rescue, the donations you send for him/her will 100% go towards the food, toys, and medical bills of the dog being sponsored. We will gladly send photos and updates to you regarding your sponsored dog, and we will even update you with how they are doing once they have been placed in their new home! We understand that there are many people who would like to help homeless and needy animals that are unable to foster or adopt, so this is a fabulous way to help.
