Hazel

Hazel's mom & dad wrote to tell us:
"You would have thought she lived here all her young life. She loves Kurt
and keeps an eye on him wherever he goes. They did the boundary walk
today. She stayed right with him, no leash. I am so impressed on how
well she listens. If she turns in tho the Tasmanian Devil, all it takes
is a firm "Hazel!" and she immediately stops and sits. Yesterday he had
her outside chasing a ball. Her legs are so long that when she goes
after the ball her hind feet are up by her head. She is so fast!!! Now
we have to work on the steering and stopping. I took her for a few walks
around the yard yesterday without any problems, off leash. Her response
time is pretty immediate when you call her. Just watching her maneuver
and run, I really doubt that she has hip problems. She is so fast and
turns quickly and is really a very fluid runner. She is beautiful to watch.
She loved, loves the bed. We want to be consistent with her sleeping at
the foot of the bed so we can still have room to move around. We
rehearsed this eight times last night. Each time she just wanted to be
closer to us. Kurt took her out at three AM this morning and when she
returned to bed she went to sleep at the bottom of the bed. When we woke
this morning, she was sharing Kurt's pillow. She is sooo damn cute and
sweet!!!! I think in a normal day, she be wonderful with me during the
day , but I'll be chopped liver once Kurt comes home. He doesn't quit
smiling at her! We both haven't smiled this big and this long since Zoey
got sick.
She heard a few noises last night, once it got dark, that put her on
alert. She sat up in bed and gave a few deep barks. There is no
mistaking that Rottweiler voice!
Suzanne is coming out today with her kids so Kurt is going to take Hazel
out for another walk and maybe a few chasing balls to expend some of
that energy. No "accidents" yet and she goes away from the house. That
is a bonus!
I sent pictures to all the grandparents, aunts and great aunts. They are
all ecstatic. I am attaching a few for you to see. I will send more!. She made it
through her first shower and nail trimming with flying colors yesterday.
After the shower she turned into the Tasmanian Devil briefly before
coming back to earth.
We both love her! Our home is complete again.
Thank you for the love and care that you put into the rescue.
Take care!
