Maya's new family writes to her guardian angel at Hot Water Rescue:
"Hi Barbara -
Maya has has her first of two shots for heartworm, and I'll pick her up tomorrow. They did say her appetite is just fine (she's been starved for so long, I time her when she eats - average time, 24 seconds for a cup of dry food).
We have found Ozzie several times lying in front of her open crate with her favorite squeaky toy - the one they both like and fight over. As much as he likes being spoiled as the only dog for a few days, he really misses her.
We can't wait to have her home with us. I'm convinced there are no accidents in life, and that's why the dog warden called you when you were on the phone to me.
