Onca (formerly Mecca)
Onca's mom updates us in '06:"...just got the updated list of available puppies and dogs you have
and I was reminded once again of what great and important work you all
are doing.
We adopted Onca (formerly Mecca) from you all 2 years ago this August
and she has become a much loved member of our family. She still has
her moments (particularly given that she was just chained up for the
first 2 years of her life before you rescued her) but the improvements
she's made are tremendous and continue on a day to day basis.
She now has many puppy friends (ranging all the way from a miniature
daschund to a 120 lb Airedale) and a big fan club of people too!
Best of luck to all of you with this new group of wonderful dogs you
have just waiting for good homes.
Wish I could take another...but 2 dogs is the limit for our family right now!

P.S. A few more pics if you want to add them to her success page..."

Onca's new dad writes:"Just wanted to let you know that Mecca made it here
safe and sound. She certainly hasn't shown any signs
of agression toweards either Erina or myself and
actually acted quite timid when Lucky barked at her
when she first arrived. Now they've had a chance to
play a bit and seem to be getting along quite well.
Attached are a few pictures. Thanks for EVERYTHING."
More news:"Onca (the artist formerly known as Mecca) has adjusted
wonderfully to her new home in NY. Her big brother,
Lucky, a 5 year old Am-Staff, wasn't sure what to make
of her at first but after a week or so he came around.
Now the two are inseparable. We offered our new big
girl a place in our family and she gracefully
accepted. Soon we will be starting puppy school and if
she takes to it the way she has been responding to our
training here at home it should be a blast. Now the
only problem is that we’re going to need a bigger bed…"
