From Buzz's foster mom: I want to touch base to let you know how "Buzz" is doing. He is getting along great with all of our family members (neighbors as well) and loves to play with my lab. A more appropriate name could not have been given to Gracie. It suits her perfectly! Gracie was rescued just in the nick of time from a high kill shelter. Her foster mom brought her home and gave her a much needed bath only to discover a beautiful tan coat with brown speckles running through it. Armani is such a big mush!!! He loves people and other dogs and is such a good boy. He had a family once and even a sister. His family fell on hard times and could not keep him. Times are hard and people have been reluctant to open their homes and hearts to dogs in need. Well, we all may have met a "party crasher" at one time or another. But normally, they have two legs. Meet Jayden, a four-legged "party crasher". Jayden wandered into the backyard of a home where a child's birthday party was in full swing. Whether it was the enticement of the smell of food or just wanting to be in the company of happy people; or maybe both. Jayden took the noise and excitement all in stride; but of course, being fed lunch was a huge plus. Unfortunately, this was not her home and a new home for her was not too be found that day. Jayden was picked up by Animal Control and taken to a shelter. The officer took a real liking to her and called Hot Water Rescue.    more...

Sam is such a great puppy! He was rescued from a shelter with no time to spare and has been enjoying every moment of freedom since; ) He is in a foster home with other dogs, cats and children and he loves everyone. Sam is having such a great time being a puppy and living life to the fullest. He gets lots of play time both inside and outside. He enjoys running and playing fetch in the backyard, is a great companion for long walks and the best cuddler. The children adore him and he them. He is learning some basic commands such as sit, stay and lay down. He gets excited when he knows he is going to get a treat that he often does all three and a half roll over within seconds LOL.    more...

Dignan Male 8-9 mos approx

Dignan loves to smile! And thank goodness he finally has something to smile about. Rescued by a caring pit enthusiast, Dignan was brought to the safe compounds of a very compassionate veterinary practice. His guardian angel could not believe her eyes at poor Dignan's condition. His right elbow apparently been fractured. But instead of seeking medical care, his leg was wrapped up tight and tied with shredded pieces of cloth. We have no idea how long this gentle boy had to endure pain and suffering in this condition. It is believed that Dignan had been kicked, at a tender young age, and his elbow left to mend on it's own.    more...

Although we named this wonderful boy Duncan, we do sometimes wonder if we shouldn’t have named him “Cupcake” instead… Despite his rock-hard good looks, he’s a big softie and an absolute love, both with humans, other dogs, cats, and even small critters that scurry by the hundreds around our neighborhood. He lives to be in your company and follows you all over the house, never missing a chance to put his head on your knee if you sit down even for a second.    more...

They say the eyes are the windows to our soul. Just one look at Larry and you will see what we see, a gentle kind loving soul. We can only imagine what he went through before being picked up by animal control. Could he have been discarded, was there no one looking for him, where did his family go, why didn't they come for him? So many questions and no answers... It was disheartening for Larry to be out in the elements with no food, no water and no shelter. But worse was that there was no one to wag his tail for, no one to give kisses to and no one to bring his toys to...    more...

Venice is just a very lovey, sweet girl. She adores people and children and thrives on affection. She loves playing with her canine foster brother & sister and although she probably had never met a cat before now she is learning that there are boundaries. A home with a dog-savy cat would be just fine for her. She loves playing with sticks in the backyard and if you throw her a ball she is very quick to chase it! ...    more...

This sweet girl can't seem to get enough of her foster mom, and everyone else who walks in the door. She LOVES people, and follows everyone around because she just can't get enough of everyone! Jezra (formerly Jessie), is perhaps one of the friendliest dogs we've met. She greets everyone happily wagging her tail and has come to believe she is a lap dog. She learns quickly and has proven that she wants to be a part of the family. She's a fan of any toy she can chew on, rope bones and nyla-bones alike. As much as she likes her toys she is more then willing to share them. She excitedly wants to play with her foster family's cat but is learning boundaries....    more...

UPDATE! 6/20 Cash is the perfect pet for someone who wants a dog that embodies the very best qualities of his breed. He is sweet, devoted, loving, playful and slightly goofy (don't tell him I said that). He is very enthusiastic when he plays, but also loves to be a couch potato. He is a friendly guy and has never met a person he didn't think was absolutely wonderful. Despite his obvious love for everyone he meets, he will put his family on a pedestal and love them unconditionally; this is a dog who needs to be loved just as much as he needs to love somebody.    more...

Sahara Female 2-3 yrs approx

We received a message from an anonymous caller asking us to please rescue Sahara. The urgency in the caller’s voice was bone chilling. We knew we needed to help but feared we might be too late. Sahara was found on the streets of an inner city where most dogs especially those mixed with American Pit Bull Terrier do not stand a chance. She was then brought to the local kill-shelter where she was given a couple of days (or less depending on space) to live. We contacted the shelter immediately holding our breath as we held on the line waiting to find out if she was still alive. To hear the words "we got her" had never sounded better but the challenge was not over. We asked the shelter to give her a little more time and then sent our closest volunteers over to meet her.    more...
